We are looking for an Associate Director / Director, Data Partnerships to join our global Data Science team. This position is located in the US East Coast, Boston area preferred.  

As an Associate Director / Director, Data Partnerships you will build the global Data Partner (DP) network with new DP relationships particularly in the US and Canadian market. Negotiations of terms and closing agreements with Data Partners is crucial part of the successful execution in this role. Additionally, you will manage the Data Partner relationships towards data readiness and successful Real-World Data (RWD) customer projects.

Data Partners with rich clinical (longitudinal EMR) and genomic/omics data sets, consented for secondary use, are sought to make those data searchable through a global Data Partner network enabled by Partnerships allowing searchability and data access are essential to the business of Data Science where BC Platforms offer pharma/CRO companies opportunities to realize their Real-World Data strategies and improve the productivity and pipelines for drug development.

What you will be working on:

  • Searching and recruiting new Data Partners to join network covering US and Canada in large scale
  • Negotiation of terms and closing agreements with Data Partners
  • Further develop and apply the BC Platforms global Data Partner strategy and goals to US and Canadian markets
  • Working closely with Director of Data Science Projects to develop the Data Partnerships towards rapid data readiness
  • Partnership management for full maturation of the Data Partner account, which may include engagement with the BC Platforms sales team
  • Ability to influence and drive partner responsiveness within a collaborative business structure

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • In-depth understanding of the Real-world data market, its application to drug development and a proven track record of collaborating with nonprofit and for-profit partnerships
  • Strong skills in partnership management, including ability to set and achieve shared business targets through a balanced scorecard approach
  • Highly motivated, works independently and is able to move forward several Data Partnership opportunities simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment

Qualifications/requirements for this position:

  • Bachelors in Life Sciences or other industry relevant, an advanced degree preferred, or equivalent previous work experience
  • Working knowledge of general healthcare data regulations (HIPAA); knowledge of GDPR and other national regulations is an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Life Sciences
  • Demonstrated experience in partnership management
  • Experience with working effectively and collaboratively within an academic environment is a clear benefit
  • Appreciation for the need to be flexible in work roles as required in a small company
  • Excellent communication skills in dealing with people at all levels inside and outside of the company
  • Proactive approach and strong follow up skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a global environment and flexibility to engage across time zones
  • Fluency in English. Additional languages appreciated.

Additional Information

This position is located in the US East Coast, Boston area preferred. However, both working from our Boston office or from the home office are suitable.

Travel expected, including international travel, up to 30% of the time. The travels are expected to escalate after Covid19 situation is secured, not before early spring 2021. 

Corporate offices are based in Helsinki, Zurich, Boston and Singapore, requiring flexibility in scheduling meetings across geographies.
